How Much Does It Cost to Get Started?

It doesn't cost anything to partner with me. There's no sign-up fee, no monthly fee and no ongoing charges.
The only cost to get started comes from getting your license.

Here's what that normally looks like:

1. Take a state-approved prelicensing course.
I'll help you find one, and it's usually around $150.

2. Take your state exam.
This fee varies by state, but it's typically about $100.

3. Apply for your state license.
This also varies by state, but most people pay around $100.

4. Carry Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance.
This is your professional liability coverage, and most people choose the monthly option, which is usually around $30 a month.

5. Complete your Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training.
That cost $12.50.

Altogether, the cost to get licensed, insured, and ready to begin is about $400, assuming you choose the monthly E&O option.

Question 2

Do I Have to Reach Out to Friends & Family?

Not at all -- unless it's something you truly want to do. We offer access to warm source leads, which is honestly one of my favorite parts of this business. It gives every agent the same opportunity to start strong, grow with confidence and never worry about running out of people to connect with.

I also know agents who are incredibly successful only through their social media posts. I've watched them build their entire career by simply showing up online, sharing helpful and genuine content, and letting real conversations grow from there. No leads being purchased, no cold calling, and no pressure -- just authentic online presence that turns into natural, meaningful connections. This business really does meet you where you already shine, giving you the freedom to grow in a way that feels honest, personal, and true to who you are.

Where Do Our Leads Come From?

We work with two main lead sources. The first comes through the mortgage market. When someone begins a new home loan or refinances their current one, they receive a mailer that asks if their family would be financially protected if something unexpected happened. A small percentage of people reply or call in,  to request an agent to call them to review their options to purchase coverage.

Our second lead source comes from online ads. When someone clicks an ad and shares their information, it allows one of us to reach out, answer their questions, and help them explore options that protect the people they love most.

What I appreciate most is that these are warm introductions -- not bought lead lists or random outbound calls. They come from real people who already took the first step toward protecting their family, making each conversation feel natural, personal, and full of purpose.

Is This Cold Calling?

NO It Is Not. Every person we reach out to has already asked for a call, which means the conversation starts from interest, not interruption. What I always share with new agents is this; when we call, they might not immediately know who's on the other end, so the first few seconds can feel a little unexpected. Once they realize the call is about walking through options, answering questions, and protecting their family, that's when the conversation softens and flows naturally. It's never about reading from scripts or forcing a sale -- it's about showing up with honesty and helping people who already took the first step and want support.

Is Symmetry an Insurance Company?

Accepted Answer

No. Symmetry functions as an IMO (Independent Marketing Organization), giving independent agents a place to connect for training, tools, and support while building their own business.

Agents partner directly with respected insurance carriers. When a policy is placed, commissions are paid by the carriers and sent straight to the agent, not from Symmetry.

Do I Need To Buy Leads?

Leads are not a requirement -- they're just a resource you can choose to use if you want or need them. For those who do use leads, the cost is typically $1 to $35, depending on how recent the request was.

One of the things I value most about this career is the freedom it gives. There's no cap on conversations, no slow-season limits, and no income ceiling. Agents turn interest into real conversations and consistent results, which becomes momentum and income they truly control.

A lot of agents appreciate having access to leads early on, while they grow their confidence. What I've seen personally is this -- the more confident an agent becomes, the more intentional their business and income growth gets, without waiting on trends or perfect timing.

If flexibility and income control matter to you, this path lets you grow in a way that feels honest, natural, and true to who you are. And it gives you room to build something strong for your future and the people you care about most.

Question 7

Symmetry is an IMO - Not an MLM Company

Some people confuse commission careers with MLM, so I like to explain the difference clearly. Symmetry functions as an IMO (Independent Marketing Organization)  -- a company that supports independent brokers with training systems, and mentorship, not a traditional MLM model that requires fees, rank purchases, inventory, or recruiting just to earn.

There are:
 • No sign-up costs
 • No required product orders
 • No starter kits or inventory
 • No paying for ranks
 • No pressure to enroll friends or family just to earn income
In this brokerage, your income is based on real insurance sales and real financial protection placed for families. Mentorship and team growth are optional paths for people who enjoy leading, but they are not the requirement.
